Even though the north is a frozen wonderland this time of the year, Minnesotans still known how to make the best of the season. Here are lots of fun events happening around the Twin Cities this winter:

Jan. – March | Polar Plunge. Support the Special Olympics Minnesota by taking a leap into freezing water. (Check their website for dates and locations.)

Jan. – Spring | Ice Castles. Explore this award-winning frozen attraction built using hundreds of thousands of icicles and LEDs to create sculptures, tunnels, slides, and more. (Attraction goes up in late Dec. or early Jan. and stays as long as the weather allows.)

Jan. 23 – Feb. 2 | Saint Paul Winter Carnival. Join in on the 134th annual carnival with city-wide special events, fun activities, and more.

Jan. 23-26 | U.S. Pond Hockey Championship. Come watch the nation’s premier outdoor hockey tournament that has even earned national notoriety.

Jan. 30 – Feb. 2 | City of Lakes Loppet Ski Festival. Bring the whole family to this cross-country ski festival featuring lots of activities and beautiful ice luminaries.

Feb. 22 | 2020 Winter Beer Dabbler. Stop by the fairgrounds for the biggest outdoor winter beer fest around.
